A Crocheter can offer the children at Sandy Hook some comfort in crocheting or teaching their young children to crochet some snowflakes. Crocheting these snowflakes for those children is one act that we can do to help them.
Feel free to head over to Best Free Crochet and find many free crochet patterns for snowflakes. Remember no two snowflakes are alike. Here are some free crochet patterns to get you started:

Monroe CT (one town over from Newtown) has offered the use of their empty middle school for the students of Sandy Hook Elementary after the holiday break. The Connecticut PTSA in conjunction with the Newtown PTA is asking that children across the country make snowflakes- any color, any size- in an effort to make this new building extra warm and special for these children. Their hope is to make the new school a Winter Wonderland and to start the children off in the right direction.
It would be a great way to show support for the families and staff in Newtown.
