A beaded necklace is a great accessory to dress up a plain blouse or sweater, and Premier Yarns® has a great free beaded necklace pattern to share. It’s called Silver Spell, and it features City Life ladder yarn.
This elegant multi-tiered necklace is made using City Life, a #5 bulky weight yarn that comes in 13 beautiful colors. I’ve used Feline for my necklace. One ball of City Life will make more than one necklace, so keep that in mind when you go to choose your beads. You will need 33 6mm beads for each necklace. In addition, you will need a size 4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook, a beading needle, and optional toggle closure, needle and thread.
The pattern can be found here. From this page you will click on the box on the right-hand side of the screen to download the pattern in Adobe format. I’ve chosen to make my necklace two-tiered, where the pattern gives instructions for a three-tiered necklace. The difference in construction is explained in the video.

And here is my finished necklace, along with the three-tiered version done in Orchid.
This gorgeous necklace would make a great gift for your favorite fashionista, and the combination of the different colors of City Life yarn and the hundreds of different beads available at your local craft store makes for endless possibilities. Have fun with it.
