Memorial Day is Monday May 26, 2014 and will be here before you know it! Did you know that a National Moment of Remembrance was established in 2000? Americans are asked to pause for one minute at 3:00 PM on Memorial Day to remember those who have died in service to our country. Why 3:00 PM? Because that is the “time that most Americans are enjoying their freedoms on the National Holiday”, according to the proclamation.
For many of us, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, and we love to celebrate summer with cook-outs and parties. Maggie has designed this cute Beer Cozy to help keep beverages cool during those warm afternoons. Crocheted using Deborah Norville’s Everyday worsted weight yarn in red and white, with Merry yarn providing the festive blue trim.
You will also need two crochet hooks, a size H/8 for the cozy and a size J/10 for the trim. Deborah Norville Crochet Hooks have you covered. Their beautifully dyed wood surface warms up quickly in your hands, and the polished wood surface and smooth tapered points glide effortlessly through any type of yarn.
