Stitch Repeat Granny Rows – Free Crochet Pattern

beginning-maggies-crochet-stitch-repeat-granny-rows-free-pattern

The popular pattern of a granny square can also be mimicked in Granny Rows in stead of rounds. This stitch pattern looks great in a solid color or in stripes, as shown here. For this effect, just change the color every two rows.

This stitch repeat can be worked with any size yarn. Use the hook size recommend for whatever yarn you choose. Worsted weight yarn is a good size to practice with and is what we used in the video.

Hi, I watched your video on Granny Rows done in a ripple. My problem is that I can’t find the pattern for the Granny Ripple stitch pattern. Can you please point me in the direction of the written pattern for it?

    Hi Veronika,

To get the ripple stitch effect, you can use the same pattern and just change colors every two rows. It’s available here: http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/stitch-repeat-granny-rows-free-crochet-pattern

    #5 granny rows

what’s to say, Cristina’ s showing this made with alternating colors really showed off pattern but showed off best the making of pattern by using one color in video- she IS a natural born teacher and does all the patterns well all the while using a great balance of explanation and ‘doing it’ so very well. Yes, these FREE patterns are great but finding her, real treasure.

Next video on this-As with most, I’d like to see completed projects using ‘granny rows’ but dishcloths and equal must be ruled out as that’s too easy.
