Crochet Ruffle Stitch Single – Learn How To with Maggie Weldon

The Ruffle Stitch is worked in one stitch and there are two variations – Single Ruffle Stitch and Double Ruffle Stitch. This post will feature the Single Ruffle Stitch and a video tutorial from Maggie herself!

Single Ruffle Stitch

Working in the front loops only – join yarn with a slip stitch in any stitch, (chain 3, slip stitch in next stitch) around or across a row or round of stitches.

In this dishcloth you will use the Single Ruffle stitch and work the slip stitches (sl sts) on any free double crochet on any round you choose to work the ruffle stitch.

Idea: Look for creative ways to use the Ruffled Stitch on projects you have already crocheted. This stitch can make an ordinary granny square look spectacular! Remember – the possibilities are endless!! You can work this stitch on any design where you have stitches that are relatively closed together and available. An example of this is the granny square where you can easily work the single or double ruffled stitch in the 3 skipped double crochet stitches.

Here is a video that will help you learn the single ruffle stitch.
